Publisher's Synopsis
The second of a three-year French course written for junior secondary schools in English-speaking Africa. The approach takes into consideration the often lengthy nature of the teaching programme with two or three lessons per week. Progress is therefore paced accordingly with regular revision and recycling.;Whilst maintaining a high degree of oral activity, "Transafrique 2" places more emphasis on writing and especially reading skills. The grammar covered allows pupils to reinforce what has been learnt in level 1. for example, the present tense, the imperative and the agreement of adjectives, the immediate past and future, relative clauses and the comparative and superlative. The perfect and future tenses are introduced but are dealt with in detail in "Transafrique 3".;The themes encountered in level 2 broadly relate to three areas: space, time, and situational notions such as asking for and giving advice. Each level of "Transafrique" comprises a student's book, a workbook containing additional practice material, and a teacher's book with detailed teaching notes and a full answer key.
