Excerpt from Transactions of the American Institute of Mining Engineers, Vol. 23: Being Part II. Of the Proceedings, Papers and Discussions of the Chicago Meeting of 1893, Constituting Divisions C and D of the International Engineering Congress
The present volume, and Volume XXII., issued immediately be fore it, contain the papers and discussions of the Chicago Meeting of the Institute, held in August, 1893, and constituting Divisions C and D, devoted respectively to Mining and Metallurgy, of the International Engineering Congress, held in connection with the World's Columbian Exposition. No attempt has been made to separate in publication the papers of the two Divisions, or to arrange them in the order of their presentation at the meeting. They appear in these volumes in the order in which they have been made ready for final publication.
Volume XXIV. Will contain additional discussions of these papers, held at subsequent meetings of the Institute.
