Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from Trade-List of American Plants and Shrubs
Wherever a lovely climbing vine is wanted this should be used. Plant them among beds of iris, among groups of eulalias and other hardy grasses, among shrubbery and in bits of wild grass. In these places they make a lovely show of blue sweet pea-like ?owers, and will remain from year to year. It makes itself at home among other plants, and is more beautiful than when planted alone. It is particularly valuable for seaside planting, as it stands the salt air. It succeeds perfectly in almost pure beach sand, making an elegant mass of. Foliage and Ho wers. There has been some question as to its hardiness by those not understanding its nature. It almost always kills below the crown in winter, but just as surely sprouts again from the roots lower down.
