Publisher's Synopsis
To avoid mutilation by his brutal Muslim captors, Jerome escapes into 11th century Anatolia ruled by the Seljuk Turks. To survive he must locate the Christian armies who have invaded the Middle-East in their quest to free Jerusalem from the Saracens. Using his intelligence and knowledge gained during his captivity he reaches his goal only to face more challenges; how to prove he is not a Turkish spy and then be accepted by the Frankish nobles. Assuming the guise of an aristocrat is dangerous for the former church scribe. After proving his leadership he is given additional men to command as the armies cross the harsh land and battle Turkish army. Conflicts between the leaders of the four Christian armies are almost as fierce as those with the Muslims. Can they reach Jerusalem or even survive in the Middle-East?
