Publisher's Synopsis
It's not unheard of for students from South Alabama University to go missing, even for a couple of days, especially during Mardi Gras. They usually turn up sooner rather than later, although somewhat the worse for wear.
When college student Anne Asher is reported missing by her friends, Detective Jake Martins opens a missing persons case and begins searching for her. What began as a routine case turns into a high-profile investigation that will push Martins to the edge of sanity as he has to deal with intense media interest, racism within his department, and personal demons from a traumatic past as a beat cop in LA.
