Publisher's Synopsis
"A World War I soldier fighting on the eastern front turns to poetry in an effort to overcome his inability to deal with the unspeakable that led to Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. In November 1916, six months before the United States entered World War I as an ally of France, England and Italy, the soldier/poet left the United States to return to his native Italy to join the Italian Army. He encountered corruption, treachery, propaganda and unethical leadership. Wounded in battle, he tells us his particular story that reflects the universal experience of the combat soldier."--.
