Publisher's Synopsis
This is a story of three relatives of mine who took three paths to the Battle of Gettysburg in the U.S. Civil War: a grandfather, Captain Charles Wiley Fisher of Company I of the 104th New York Volunteer Infantry; a great-grandfather, Corporal Elvin Gilman Hill, of Company E of the 1st Minnesota Volunteer Infantry. The third is Lieutenant (later Brigadier-General) Tully McCrea of Battery I of the U. S. 1st Artillery. In a postcript, these paths are continued after Gettysburg, and after the Civil War.
