All New Activities with an SEL curriculum in mind! Meet Julen. A grade-school student who teaches us about some common behavioral characteristics of autism in the classroom. The goal is to help educate his peers on the challenges that kids on the spectrum might face throughout the school day. Julen helps his classmates understand and relate to him so that he can be accepted in an inclusive classroom setting. After reading about Julen, there are activities included to continue the conversation with students. These activities give students the skills to understand and talk about our differences. They will learn positive and proactive strategies that support inclusion through self-kindness, friendliness, and empathy.
