Excerpt from Thirty-Fifth Annual Report of the Board of Health of the State of New Jersey, 1911, and Report of the Bureau of Vital Statistics
Gentlemen - Herewith is presented the report Of the Board for the year ending October 313t, 1911. The wisdom of the Board in subdividing the work and placing competent men as heads of the divisions has resulted in increased efficiency, and no year in the history of the Board since its organization has seen more faithful application to the service or been marked by greater ad vances in the administration of health laws.
As the Secretary of the Board is the Superintendent of the Bureau of Vital Statistics, the report of statistical work for the vear ending December 3lst, is herewith submitted. In the arrangement of this report a departure has been made from that of former reports in placing the records of vital statistics after the reports of the various' departments, as we believe this arrange ment is more logical.
A summary Of the work performed by each division is pre sented, together with a record of the action of the Board in rela tion to the care Of contagious diseases of animals, examination of health officers, licensing of slaughter houses, control of the oyster industry, and the enforcement of the many and various laws, the execution of which is placed in the hands Of the Board.
