The replies which you have sent to me in response to the question naire mailed to you in February indicate the truth of the old saying that 'n 0 news is good news.' The period of middle life does not offer the contrasts, the opportunities, or the striking accomplish ments which come to some of us in younger days, and so it has not seemed wise to attempt in this report more than a brief summary of addresses and such additions to the '97 Family as have occurred since the last Report and to give the names of those members of the class who have passed away. To a number of our classmates has come great distinction; to many, fine accomplishments and unusual success; to the majority, a satisfaction and contentment in life. I will not venture to indi cate by name any of our members in this short preface, but if you will all refresh your memories by looking over our last Report, you Will find this to be the case.
