The edition was a limited one and is being rapidly absorbed. Our Society and the historical student owe a debt of gratitude to our honored member, William D. Patterson, of Wiscasset, for his arduous and gratuitous labor in the compilation of this useful record. The earlier work by Mr. John T. Hull on The Siege and Capture of Fort Loyall, and the Destruction of Falmouth in has long been out of print, and the Society hopes to issue a second edition with additional annotations. This elaborate paper was read by Mr. Hull before the Society and a large audience at an anniversary of the destruction of Fort Loyall, in 1885.
