Excerpt from Third Biennial Report of the Board of Railroad Commissioners of the State of Oregon to the Legislative Assembly, Seventeenth Regular Session, 1893
To the Honorable, the Legislative Assembly of the State of Oregon: gentlemen: In accordance with the provisions of law, the Board of Railroad Commissioners submits their third biennial report for your consideration. In its second biennial report the Board recommended the passage of an act to compel street car companies to file an annual report, but no action was taken by the legislature, and no attempt has been made to cause a report to be filed.
By reference to the annual-reports of the various railroad com penies doing business in the State, as set forth in this report, It will be seen that there are nine companies operating railroads as follows.
