This pack is drawn from the CASE project (Cognitive Acceleration through Science Education) which set out to discover whether it is possible to improve science thinking abilities through specific teaching activities.;Following extensive trialling in schools across the country, evidence has been obtained of improved thinking skills in science. The materials are designed to be integrated into science courses in the 11-14 age range. There are a series of 30 science activities, requiring normal science teaching resources, which students should enjoy doing.;This second edition includes some improvements to some of the activities, a new section showing how the pack relates to Key Stage 3 of the National Curriculum, particularly to Sc1, two additional activities and some corrections.
