I AM well aware that the following pages on the Rudiments of Christianity, must strike, as devoid of novel and original thoughts, those readers who are familiar with the Unitarian and Universalist books, which, since the commencement of the present cen tury, like stars rising one after another in a beautiful evening, have broken forth in such rapid succession. I feel and acknowledge their immense superiority in reasoning and eloquence to this or any other produc tion which my best powers could put forth.
