Publisher's Synopsis
At the age of 13 my life changed from boy to manhood to help support a family of 10. Being the second child of eight it became my job to help when my father took sick. Farm work was not easy but it built me up for what lied ahead. Service in the United States Marine Air Wing, my years with United Airlines and my years of retirement to date.
Many times over the years when episodes of my life were told. Episodes like parachuting from a disabled plane or firing my rifle while on guard duty. Friends would tell me that was interesting why don't you write about it. After many of these episodes I decided to go for it.
Through out my life I have made many friends, mostly women, but being a one women man no spicy stuff. Of the women in my life, Adele was my true love for 62 years, Jackie Majors for a short time, then came Elanor DeMartini, then Joan Samuels. Now my beyond is with out a lady friend. I am sure some where in the future there will be one.
I do not know much that can be said about Me. I started life as a very sick child in A FAMILY that worked very hard just to exist. I was taught to work at a young age witch gave me a leg up when at age 13 I had to help support the large family.
When my brother George joined the Marines it made five brothers who followed their father into the Marines and I thought something should be put into print about it, but not knowing how to go about writing, let it slide. I then met Vickie Sanders an author of several books. She told me how to get started. It was slow but my first book, MOTHERS SIX MARINES, was published. I then coauthored a children book titled, A SNAIL NAMED SLICK, with my daughter Aleta and THE TOUGHEST GUY IN THE BAR, with my son Patrick.
THEN NOW AND BEYOND is my life. I lived it then, am living it now and how far into the beyond is in the Lord's hands. Enjoy
