Excerpt from Thematisches Verzeichniss der Instrumentalwerke von Joh. Seb. Bach
Von den im Anhang I unter Serie III verzeichneten Werken f�r Violine und f�r Fl�te ist die Sonata a Violino solo con Basso unter Nr. 5 (thema 63 - 65) als un echt, dagegen die Suite in Cmoll unter Nr. 2 (thema54 - 58) als zuverl�ssig echt befunden worden. Letztgenannte Suite ist, "f�r das Pianoforte bearbeitet von Robert Franz, bei Breitkopf und H�rtel im Druck erschienen. Da eine authentische Vor lage f�r diese Composition zur Feststellung der Originalgestalt derselben zur Zeit noch mangelt, so konnte auch noch keine Veranlassung genommen werden, diese Suite in einer der vorhandenen Formen durch die Gesammtausgabe Peters zu ver�ffentlichen.
