Publisher's Synopsis
Nahum, an Indian boy lives with his mother, with no father around. An old Indian leader takes him under his wing and teaches him many things. Warriors attack their camp and kill the old man. Nahum loves the old man and is heart-broken. A neighboring leader sees much character and potential in Nahum and recommends he be trained at a far away place. As Nahum is leaving home, a young girl tells him that she cares for him.His journey and training are filled with danger, excitement and knowledge. But as the years pass he becomes homesick and returns home to find happiness.
