Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from The Works of John Caius, M. D., Second Founder of Gonville and Caius College and Master of the College, 1559-1573: With a Memoir of His Life
Note by Dr M R. Forum - The following notes are not meant to be exhaustive. Their object is to point out some identifications, probable or certain, of manuscripts which he consulted, and to call attention to a few lost authorities. Incidentally the list tells us something of the libraries to which he had access; and no doubt it might be made to throw some light on literary history. The authorities are classed separately by Dr Caius as manuscript and printed: with the latter division these notes are not concerned.
Gildas sapiens: the references (pp. 14, 43, 49) lead me to think Caius did. Not really know Gildas.
