IV. Another service rendered was the publication of The Soldier's Hymn Book, and its large circulation, together with the issues of other organizations. Our book was issued, 16th June, 1861, and to those curious in such matters let me say, that it was mainly Compiled by Rev. J. II. Burtis, the prefatory note written by Mr. Vernon, and the address of the Committee, on the last page of the cover, by Mr. Ballard.
