Whilst the Spiritual interests of the inhabitants of the valleys and of the hills forming the watershed are being cared for by two missionary societies, the tribes living in the unsurveyed forests and mountains of the border were, for the most part, wholly unevangelised especially was this true of those in the extreme south eastern corner inhabiting the North Arakan Yoma Mountains lying between the sea coast of the Bay of Bengal and Burmah.
