Claire Benaway is an emotionally devastated young woman living with her sister and a man that they were told is their father. They are poor and moved often, the girls not knowing that all of these years they have been on the run. They are also witches, something else of which they are unaware. It is summer and Claire has just finished junior college and her life is soon to be turned upside down when her world-traveling aunt drops in for a visit. This is a summer, too, when dark forces across the globe converge in their quest for world domination.
And the Prophecies foretold of a time when there would be a great war and the orphans of the Witches' Council would reunite under the leadership of the new Queen to again take their place in the world. So, Claire must now find it within herself to lead the new generation of witches that is coming of age, even as a tech giant is waging war on mankind; thus, setting the stage for an epic battle of magic versus technology... a battle in which their only hope for survival lay in a lost spell.
