In a church on the northwest coast of Scotland, a statue of the Virgin begins to weep blood. A parishioner claims that the Virgin has chosen him to spread her messages.
The Church commissions the Jesuit priest Joaquín Munker to investigate the case to find out the reality behind these phenomena. But he will not be alone, he will be helped by strange dreams.
Reason and sentimentality, faith and credulity will meet while Father Munker advances towards the truth behind the tears of blood.
