Publisher's Synopsis

The vividly coloured, deeply embossed die-cut images known today as antique scrap were collected by the Victorians in albums (from which the term "scrapbook" is derived). These images were then exchanged on special occasions (the original greeting cards). Today, antique and vintage ephemera is becoming an increasingly popular way for artists, designers and crafters to enhance their scrapbooks, greeting cards and other paper projects.;This volume is a nostalgic collection of these images, based on the scrapbooks of Laura Friese (1887-1972), who completed them when she was 10 years old. This collection of 500 full-colour prints - many of which are appearing for the first time in print - comprise an amusing array of popular themes. Crafters will find images of angels, animals, flowers, holidays, romance, religion, landscapes, people and even odds and ends like cards, crests and tambourines. All of the images are printed on one side only for easy use. This guide also includes complete instructions for working with the images, along with photographs of finished crafts and decorative accessories.
