The Veil

Aiden was destined to be with Naomi. It was not her destiny to be with him. That was the way it was supposed to be. Following his sudden death, Aiden is given permission to return to the earthly plain for seven days to visit his beloved Naomi to tell her that he loves her and that he is safe before returning to St. Paul's Cathedral to continue his journey. If he fails to return, the Principium Angeli will allow Charon, the Ferryman to seek him out and transfer him across the river Styx and into Hell. Not knowing how to communicate with Naomi to pass on his message and ignoring the pleas of the Principium to return, Aiden decides to stay as Naomi's guardian angel and deal with Charon later. But there would be more painful events for Aaron to face before the Ferryman catches up with him. Naomi visits her aged aunt who tells Naomi of her own life's experiences. She has met the Principium Angeli, and knows of Charon. She knows too, that the Veil that separates the living from the dead is thin and that it only takes extreme emotion to tear through it and allow departed souls to return. Convinced by her friend, Jane that she has to move on with her life, Naomi finds a new friendship. But when this relationship turns intimate, Aiden uses the immense strength of his jealousy to tear through the Veil. The Principium and Charon must ensure that Aiden will never go near Naomi again. They have to find him before Naomi and her friends use the occult to try to send him off to where they believe he belongs and before Aiden discovers Naomi's secret.
