About the author: Dr Thom Jenkins MRCVS graduated from University of Cambridge in 2012 with degrees in veterinary medicine and zoology. He started his career in China, where he ran veterinary clinics across mainland China, Hong Kong, and Singapore. He currently serves as the CEO of PetsApp. In 2024 he received the Impact Award from the RCVS in recognition of his contributions to the veterinary professions. He has worked with rhinos and horses but has yet to meet a narwhal. He lives in Minnesota with his wife, 4 children, cat, and dog.
