"The Travel Diaries of a Persian Poet in Kanada's Tooronto in the Age of Sultan Harper" is a hybrid-genre literary novel. The book narrates the experiences of an Iranian self-exiled intellectual in Canada. A single father, the main character has left his ex-wife, family, and teaching career in Tehran, his hometown. Now in Toronto, he tries to piece together his fragmented identity as an immigrant. The chapters include textual experimentation with erotic surrealism, poetic realism, political satire, found fiction, and experimental translation among other literary techniques.
