Publisher's Synopsis
Max and Lily, two adventurous 10-year-olds, discover a mysterious pocket watch in their grandfather's attic. When they twist its dial, they are transported through time to different historical periods. In the Age of Dinosaurs, they narrowly escape a hungry T-Rex, and in ancient Egypt, they help a young pharaoh recover a missing artifact before his coronation. Their next stop is a Viking village, where they assist a girl in finding her father's lost sword.
The children then find themselves in medieval Europe, caught in a jousting tournament and tasked with solving the mystery of a missing knight. On a pirate ship, they solve a riddle to uncover buried treasure but must escape when the captain turns on them. In the Wild West, they help a young sheriff protect his town from robbers. They travel to the 1800s, where they assist an inventor whose plans are stolen by a rival.
In the 1900s, Max and Lily investigate a missing book at a grand library, unraveling a hidden plot through secret passageways. Finally, back in their attic, they meet a librarian who reveals the watch's secret: it chose them because of their brave, curious hearts. She offers them the choice to continue their time-traveling adventures or leave the watch behind. With a smile, Max and Lily know their journey is far from over.
