Publisher's Synopsis
The kingdom is rent in half when King Saul attempts to take the life of his champion officer, the anointed David. Like so many others, Abishai rallies to his uncle's aid, leaving behind the only home he has ever known. On the outside, he is just another refugee hiding from the king's wrath, but on the inside anger and bitterness corrode his soul. The woman Abishai loved has betrayed him for another. Abishai's hurt is the driving force that wins every victory and preserves his life through every battle. But the more he surrenders to the pain, the more dangerous he becomes. Abishai follows his uncle into enemy territory without concern for his own life. He is determined to see Saul pay for his crimes and his uncle gain the throne. Suddenly, Abishai finds himself face to face with the one man who has caused him so much despair. Abishai wrestles with the desire to end his inner turmoil by taking his enemy's life. With Divine intervention, Abishai fails. But time is running out for Abishai. He must turn to Jehovah and surrender his will into the plans of the Almighty before his passion ultimately destroys him.
