When Jack Goodrich, a teacher at the American University in Cairo, is shown a sword thought to have belonged to the Prophet Muhammad, it seems at first that all his dreams have come true. Actually it is the beginning of his worst nightmare. A dangerous movement within the ranks of fundamentalist Islam is planning to put a new Caliph on the throne. To do this, they require the sword - and they will stop at nothing to get it. Only the strange, beautiful woman known as Scheherazade can help Jack.
