... Until Major Thorne of the Kingdom of Agash'assa arrives on her doorstep, claiming to need her specifically to help save the fallen capital. He explains that he needs to lead her into the city which has been overtaken by the Regent of the Valley of the Dead. According to the Major, they must work together to avoid the Regent's soldier-slaves, an army of mind-controlled former soldiers, as well as the Regent- a being so powerful that no one even knows what they look like... for all who look upon the Regent turn away in fear. Of course Channa is ready to run while the Major has his back turned but Major Thorne has a few tricks of his own and he's desperate to save his people. Will the lone hunter and the soldier without a country be able to work together to bring down a terror so great that no one else can face it?
