Every time the ancient artifact known as The Devil's Key resurfaces, evil things begin to happen. The indestructible key to the gates of Hell has the power to unleash an army of demons, or so it is believed. All who become aware of the Keys existence desire to possess it, and that desire draws them deeper under the influence of the dark Lord Lucifer. When writer Regis Phillips and his girlfriend Angela Carson decide to move away from the chaos of the east coast, they buy a nice little farm in the remote hills of northeastern Kentucky. The quiet, private life they both wanted and expected evaporates when they are caught up in a fight for possession of The Devil's Key. The powerful warlock, Marcus, leads one faction in pursuit of the Key. His polar opposite, The Sainted Brothers, leads another. Into the mix comes a vigilante group known as, The Society of American Patriots, local and federal law enforcement officers, an organized religious movement, two young witches, paid killers, and the family who has been the Keeper of the Key for generations.
