Simpson was once the principal fur trading post of the Hudson's Bay Com panyen this side of the Mountains, but the prosperity of an Indian trading estab lishment Withers as the men of the outside world approach it, and civilization is reaching even Fort Simpson. To-day the Indians of this neighbourhood are more intent upon getting to Victoria, and enjoy ing the delights of that metropolis, than upon hunting the fox or marten.
