The majority of authors refer to the complication as one of exceeding gravity. Extensive operations are too often followed by rapid recurrence, which appears to be favoured by the lowered vitality of the lupus tissue. Thirty-one per cent. Of the recorded cases were under 40 years of age, and in 90 per cent. Of them the cancer occurred on the face.
