I accede to your request, so kindly made. If the historic facts pre sented in the discourse shall bring anew before you and your children the virtues of your ancestors, the labor it may have cost will not be fruit less. Let us not lose sight of the ruling principles, in Church and State, for which they contended and suffered. In this world they are always endangered, and for some of them we are again engaged in a fearful and sanguinary contest.
