In this report such a program is begun in connection with scatter ing problems. This does not constitute by any means the first attempt for the solution of problems of this type. Mott and Massey1 and their collabora tors have solved many-particle collision problems of all sorts using princi pally the Born approximation. This method assumes that the incoming wave is distorted very little by the scattering center.
