Looking at his all too brief life in retrospect: Brother Scott was born at Kearney, Nebraska, October 17, 1892, but removed with his parents to Rushville, Ne, braska, in January, 1901. It was there that he attended the elementary and high school, being graduated from the last named _in 1911. It was dur' ing these years that many of the traits which were to characterize him in the future were formulated. Partic' ularly is this true as it applies to his love for the beau, tiful as expressed by music, for all ready in these formative years was he giving evi' dence of the skill with the piano and violin which was to reach full frui' tion in later years. Upon being grade uated from the Rushville high school he matriculated at the University of Nebraska.
