Role players wander the countryside, lost in their fantasies. Train spotters gather together at the end of abandoned platforms, waiting for trains that will never come.
Only Sarah seems to have escaped with her mind and body mostly intact. She has no idea why. But, after months of surviving the horrors and absurdities around her, she seemingly comes across another surviver. A boy in the road. What follows is a journey which reveals the millennia-long history that has birthed this catastrophe; and, ultimately, the story of Sarah herself. In the end, she will need to choose whether to save or end all that is left.
