Publisher's Synopsis
This is the second in a series of books on the revised Ambrosian Rite as used by Opus Apostolorum. In order to properly restore the Prefaces of the Ambrosian Rite, one must first understand the role of this prayer within the Liturgical Action. In reading the earliest Prefaces, it becomes apparent that they were a point of thanksgiving within the Liturgy for what was about to occur. Second, the Preface was a tool for apologetics and for education. The modern idea of the Preface as a fluffy celebratory prayer is a deliberate attempt to wash away the integrity of the Sacred Liturgy. In this volume, we give the reader over 175 prefaces to experience the true understanding of the preface. They are free from any heretical or modernistic tendencies. No religious indifferentism nor moral relativism will be found in these prayers either. Their aim is to present an integral and pure Liturgical Action in what St Ambrose was often quoted as saying: Orthodox Catholicism!
