Publisher's Synopsis
Briley Anderson, still not prepared to part with any portion of her tree farm, stalls Ryker Davis' attempt to explain his vision for their properties until after harvest. Her fear she won't approve fills her with dread. To prove to him she's still invested in their personal relationship, she asks him to meet her at the river to demonstrate to him her undying love. Neither had an inkling that rendezvous would change their lives.
In order to mentally survive the vicious attack, Briley retreats to San Francisco and a part-time position with her previous firm with the hope she will be able to work through her anxiety. Her family and Ryker disapprove primarily because her ex fiancé, Jason Northway, works there as well, and will cause more damage to the already fragile young woman. With more on the line that she realizes, Briley runs headstrong into her work shoving her emotions and anxiety aside until her attacker and his attorney demand she and Ryker provide depositions in the case.
Completely tormented from the attack, Ryker's demands, and Jason's interference, how will Briley survive? Does Ryker truly believe Briley wishes she had her old life back? Will Jason's attempts to separate Briley from Ryker succeed?
