In September, 1904, sufficient funds having been subscribed a stately edifice of stone, consisting of a nave with six bays of Norman arches, chancel, north and south aisles, clergy and choir vestries, and a tower, having been erected, the consecration ceremony was conducted by the Bishop of Liverpool.
