The Registers of Hackness Parish commence in the year 1557, and those transcribed in the present volume are contained in two Books, one dating from 1557 to 1653, and the other from 1653 to 1783. These Books are written upon parchment and were rebound in vellum during the Incumbency of the late Rev. Joseph Irvin.
