Publisher's Synopsis
An innocent utilitarian object becomes the instrument of evil when it becomes inhabited by evil. The object of evil passes through the hands of those who obtained it, influencing their actions and minds. The instrument draws upon the nature of those in its possession, amplifying that individual's nature to do evil. Those in possession seem to feel its influence in differing ways. The story is told by the last person to possess the object, having reoccurring dreams of the history behind the putter.
