Publisher's Synopsis
Building upon the earlier efforts of many individuals and groups, Martin Luther, Ulrich Zwingli, William Farel, Conrad Grebel and others began what turned out to be several separate and unique Reformation movements in different parts of Europe.. These included the Lutheran, Reformed, Anabaptist and Anglican as well as several radical fringe groups and the Catholic Counter Reformation. This book presents brief introductions to many of those who were involved in the first three of these movements. Most of these people and their contributions are virtually unknown by the general public. The focus of this work is primarily upon the Reformations in Germany and Switzerland. This author plans additional publications at a later time to present those involved in the efforts at reform in England, France, Italy and Spain.
