Publisher's Synopsis
A promise can be real or imagined. It can take many forms. Elizabeth has been given a promise by her father. But only the right man can make the promise come true. That man just might be the wounded Army Ranger she meets one day at the Historic Flat Rock Cottage that was supposed to be hers. But some promises are never realized, while others come to fruition when you least expect them to. Oh, you can make plans, you can even make some of your plans come true through education, responsible acts, and hard work, but eventually something will happen that you did not plan and how you react to that event will alter the rest of your life. Things you, or others, have done in the past may also come back to change your entire life. Life is truly like a puzzle in which you build the overall picture slowly piece by piece. What if? What if I had submitted to his desires? What if I had been born into some other family? What if I had not gone to that house? What if I had not met that couple? What if I had not joined that particular firm? What if I had not been so curious that day? What if I had just said "No."? What if I had been killed instead of wounded? Everyone might have such thoughts at one time or another, but for some, their actions trigger others that can last forever! It becomes part of 'The Promise of Life.' The two people involved in this story will have many of these questions to ask themselves.
