Publisher's Synopsis
A core theme in Isaiah and Jeremiah is God's call to Israel to return to Him. Israel's response to this call was often an observable wanton disobedience, and a longing to cling to her own will and lust, at all costs. However, God's continuing call was not for ever, and at some point, the Lord brought His promised wrath to pass. Israel went into captivity for many years. But even in our day and age, such calls by God continue to be made, sometimes through anointed hands and fingers of His chosen vessels. Through writers such as Pastor Tunde Idowu-Taylor, the calls are being re-echoed, to warn us of what is to come, and to demand of us an appropriate response. In " The Power of Purity", pastor reminds us of God's demands on purity and purpose in our walk with Him.One major strength of this book is that the writer, from one chapter to another, hits the nail right on the head, and courageously takes his stand as preacher and prophet. The frankness and pungency with which the discourse has been presented provides a clear message, reminiscent of Jeremiah's lonely cries to the nation of Israel. This book is therefore a must-read and I am glad to do the Foreword to it.In The Power of Purity, we see a candid call to return to the cross, and the lifestyle of Christ. It is a call for a return to the old tested and narrow way, and an affirmation that in the tumult that we now have, testimonies are waiting to happen. The fire of repentance, salvation and redemption is kindled in this book as the reader finds in it rebuke and release, as well as purity and power.I commend the writer for his boldness and brightness, his courage and counsel, and his fortitude and faith. His use of conceptual clarifications, abundant scriptural references and numerous examples, including examples reflecting society's day-to-day happenings make the book a must-have. The reader will find in the book a reason to hope, and to know that there is a way out of rut, even in this day and age.I strongly recommend the lines on the following pages to all, parishioners and preachers alike.May Holiness become His House again in our own generation.
