She received her Baccalaureate degree from Hampton University in 2002 and her Master of Art in Urban Education Counseling from Norfolk State University in 2004. Dr. Burrell resides in Hampton with her husband, Peter, daughter, Sheryl, and son, Christopher, a seaman on the USS Shreveport. Her proud mother is Mrs. Dollether E. Kelley, also of Hampton.
