Publisher's Synopsis
Photographer Lawrence Impey, an old school friend of Stewart Copeland, uniquely captured the development of The Police as they became a world-famous band. The photographs in this book come from the first ever photo sessions they did, and many of the images are printed here for the first time. Beginning with the band's original lineup on a London rooftop, Lawrence then captured the debut of the now legendary Police lineup featuring Stewart Copeland, Sting and Andy Summers in Sting's basement flat, before photographing a live performance at a small pub, just as The Police were breaking into the charts. The deluxe hardback book, signed by Lawrence, includes 200+ truly up-close and personal, revealing and poignant photographs and comes in a deluxe slipcase. It also includes a signed, exclusive art print portrait of The Police taken backstage at the 1978 pub gig. Includes forewords by Stewart Copeland and Andy Summers.
