Frequently, claims are made in regard to the possible ways and extent to which music can make a difference to effectiveness of school-based learning, and indeed overall child development. Typically these claims remain largely separate both to the broader context, and from each other. Attempts to integrate the viewpoints of general classroom teachers and music teachers are rare, as are attempts to integrate the wider subject matter and methodology of music into the broader life and learning of the school. This little book is an exploration of the place and potential of music in promoting learning in international education from aged 4 to aged 12.
