Publisher's Synopsis
Scottsdale, Arizona, and San Francisco are the settings of this twisted tale of betrayal, obsessive love, unbridled lust, all-consuming jealousy, jilted lovers, dark secrets, and deadly revenge. The plot unfolds with Phoenix SWAT officer Eddie Bello breaking up with his lover to save his crumbling eleven-year marriage to his well-spoken wife, Summer. However, the clock has run out on him and his marriage. After discovering his disloyalty, Summer goes out and stumbles into Ryan Bernau, a financial investor with whom she works. They spend the night together only to wake up and learn that her husband was murdered in the middle of the night. Despite her airtight alibi, the police suspect her. A 1935 Mauser Ruger is missing, her husband's life insurance policies total two million dollars, and she admitted to saying that she would rather see her husband dead than with another woman. Her childhood friend and lawyer, Thaddeus Butler, represents her, but he also has a hidden agenda. He informs Summer that the police will pursue the three angles of a murder: jealousy, greed, and revenge. When the truth comes out, it still leaves a lingering question. Is Summer so conniving that she can get away with murder?
