Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from The Pamirs, Vol. 1 of 2: Being a Narrative of a Year's Expedition on Horseback, and on Foot Through Kashmir, Western Tibet, Chinese Tartary, and Russian Central Asia
This Diary, which was originally intended for private perusal, has at the request of many of my friends been put into the hands of the printer. It has no pretensions beyond being a faithful daily record of the wanderings of Maj or Roche and myself through Kashmir, Ladak, Western Tibet, Chinese Turkestan, and the Pamirs, and my subsequent journey alone through Russian Central Asia to the Caspian Sea.
